Giambattista Valli Fall 2011

Not a huge fan of Valli's day wear, but there is no competition for his evening wear. He is by far one of the best evening wear designers in the industry, knowing exactly the right cut and fit to a woman's body. The house also uses some of the most luxurious and form fitting fabrics.  It's a relief from the usual. In other words, I'm a big fan.

The brand is usually very good with stripes and layering colors and textures on top of each other.  I think if Haider Ackermann doesn't take the post at Chanel after Lagerfeld retires or ... goes away ... then Giambattista Valli should. If he just roughened the edges a little bit, it would be a perfect fit.

The dresses are phenomenal, especially that red one and the last black one. They are Oscar worthy, absolutely immaculate. I also really appreciate the embroidered shoes. I bet they can only be worn a few times, but they are really well made and very exotic.
